Nurturing yourself by cultivating a self-care practice with your mind and body | ELEMENT – Space

This specially curated series is a journey through the elements earth, fire, water, air and space) The elements have roots in various ancient traditions. Elements can help us understand nature and how we can apply this to the function of our own mind body to achieve equilibrium. There are various explanations regarding the qualities of the five elements. This journey through the elements will be an exploration of all the characteristics that are attributed to each one.

This last of this series will focus on how we can find balance with our nervous systems through the element of SPACE.

During this session you will: ·

Greet your face with a gentle space creating massage.

Be shown elements of face yoga that will strengthen the face and neck.

SELF CARE - Using scents for self care

Mindfulness has been the biggest aid to my recovery since my hysterectomy 6.5 years ago. I firmly believe that consistent self-care is paramount to wellbeing and doesn’t have to be complicated.

During this session you will:

  • Make a rollerball blend using pure grade essential oils on the theme of warming your body to soothe and reset your nervous system. I am delighted to share my knowledge of using mindful aroma for the senses to create a wonderful connection to your heart space.

  • Learn about the powerful effect that scents have on your wellbeing and how to incorporate them in your day-to-day activities.

  • Take part in guided nourishing self-massage on acupressure points on the face. This guided release will focus on warming the muscles as we are still in winter.

  • Enjoy a soothing guided visualisation as you rest in a gentle cocoon with the added element of crystal singing bowls and sound designed to support and reset the nervous system. I will perform optional facial reflexology on you as you rest.

  • This will end with a sweet nourishing treat and home made tea.

Please note it is an additional £10 for the rollerball payable on the day.

This event has now passed but I am happy to offer it to you as a one to one or in a group setting.

THE BEGINNING…

This workshop is about connecting to the beginning. Whether it is the beginning of your breath, the beginning of movement and connecting with the senses, or the beginning of mindfulness or meditation.

During this session, I will:

Demystify the concept of mindfulness and explain the difference between mindfulness and meditation.

Guide you through different practices of mindfulness, including a journey through each of the senses to really cement this learning.

Show three different types of manageable meditation practices.

Introduce the basic concept of emotional freedom technique which is known as tapping therapy. This is incredibly meditative and soothing for the nervous system, as well. It is my favourite way to calm down an over wrought nervous system.

At the end of the session, you will be given a handout for basic EFT protocol, three mindfulness and meditation practices and a 10 minute gentle guided audio which will be emailed to you after the event.

Mindfulness has a hugely positive impact on physical and mental health, which brings together the whole mind-body experience. Research has shown that mindfulness can reduce stress, increase clarity and focus and can aid better sleep. This can also have an overarching improvement on relationship, but mostly the relationship we have with our self. This is aimed at beginners although experienced practitioners are also welcome because there is always learning. If you are booking for the course and would like me to cover a specific element or have any questions related to mindfulness or meditation, please email me after you have booked your spot and I will attempt to cover it during the session.

When: This session has now passed but I am happy to create one just for you! I am also happy to offer this as a one to one or group session. Please do get in touch
